Interesting history about the owls. In Spanish we call them "buhos".
Many of my country folks considered them as bad omens, but for me, and other people that do know about Ecology, owls have their own place in the world of ambient equilibrium. They control the proliferation of pests like rodents, and they are at the same level than other predators (eagles for example).
This is to say that I have my "rah, rah, rah!" for these species.
I won't try to give a name to your crystal owl. I leave that for your fellow fans.
Weeble. He doesn't look like he'd fall down. And maybe, his species makes a 'weeble' sound. He looks a little alarmed about something, could be an angel/good luck owl, there to warn you of a bumble?
Bubo, was not only in the movie, but was in the myth as well. Athena is told by Zeus to give Perseus her owl. unable to separate from her beloved owl, she creates a mechanical owl to accompany Perseus on his quest. I also vote for the name Bubo.
Alfred (means wise counselor)
This explains SO MUCH about Batman.
I submit the name Rajawal for your owl.
It has the zest of the exotic, and I could shorthand it to "Raj!" It's in the running.
