We must be kindred souls. I, too, get to do what I love for a living and I also must too often fight to function. RediCalm is an amazing help when a) I remember to buy it and b) I remember to take it. No, I don't get a kickback from whatever the company is. But your article did remind me I have to place a new order, so thanks for the mental nudge!
This is great! I sometimes reread myself too, and sometimes I cringe, but mostly I'm surprised I thought that way. I tend to think maybe I was stupider a few years back than I am now, but it turns out, not so much. (Most of the time.) lol
I'm grateful to be considered a friend in the group of your readers.
But I'm also aware of your pain problems that invades your life and work.
Anyone that goes over 50 years suffer more or less pains that go from annoying to almost paralyzing.
I think that the best treatment is to walk (not run) from three to ten minutes with a walking machine, or from 45 yards to two miles by a sidewalk reasonably in good maintenance.
Same as you, I prefer OTC medicines like Paracetamol or Diclofenac.
None of these prevent the brain to work with the rhythm each human being is accustomed.
Hugs for the two of you, from Montevideo, Uruguay.
Dear Kevin, I have the same problems as you, except for not being diagnosed for any problems except I can’t sleep well. Ok, my psychiatrist said I worry about family too much. I suffer the same way, not feeling rested aches and pains forgettfulness. Did you know that no quality sleep can cause memory loss?
Wonderful advice! I've written letters to myself 5 years on, but haven't gone back and looked at them, I should.
As for pain - being one of those chronic pain people from multiple different auto-immune things, there are several go to-s for me, because I don't like taking pain meds (they cause some nasty side effects for me, for very little ease).
For joint and muscle pain -
1. Blue Emu (Not immediate relief, but more relief over time, and lots of relief if I remember to do it twice a day, every day.)
2. Arnicare Homeopathic pills - they work pretty fast to bring pain levels down to normal - especially for muscles.
3. Muscle Spasm relief - It's a foam, the Equate version works fine, and it stops spasms and cramps pretty fast. Sometimes pain in the muscles/joints is actually a spasm, but we aren't noticing it as a "charlie horse".
4. Heat, Ice, Massage - Alternating heat and ice (20 on, 20 off, 20 on, etc, choose the one that feels the best that day), and massage with a topical, like a warming massage oil or lotion. And/or a spray on like TIDL cryo-spray, can get things loosened up and moving enough to be able to do the stretching and movement to help.
There are a lot of other things, but those are pretty easy to start with, and not too expensive.
Enjoyed this post. A few days ago I found a note I’d made years ago, encouraging me to “be your own best friend.” Seems like solid advice, right?
The most solid there is!

I may have to check this out!

I'm glad 2024 you gave 2025 you some hope.
It’s always a pleasant surprise when I look back at past Kevin and see he wasn’t the idiot I thought he was.
Yes, I’ve got a doctor who’s working on it trying to find the right combination medicine I think but I’m doing good. I pray you continue to do good!
Love this!

It definitely can! Sleep is one of the most important health indicators. I hope you can find something that helps you get more of it!

Thanks Tiffanie! I'll give all of this a try!
I’m definitely going to look into everything you just suggested. Thank you!
