My wife and best friend of 40 years died Feb 10 2021 and her outt

memorial service was the 14th, Valentine's Day. I'm so grateful that 4 hours before she died of a comletely unexpected heart attack, we were holding hands by the lake. We never went out without holding hands. A small thing, but meant a lot. 4 years later, I still remind people, "Hold hands while you can". ❤️❤️

Find out what here "love language" is. There are 5 of them. Yours is obviously Service for number one. If hers is service, too, then you are golden. If hers is gifts...you need to work on it. It helped me and hubby, because our order of the 5 is pretty much opposite, with #3 being the same. So, he tries to do some of my 1s and 2s, and I try to do some of his 1s and 2s. And we both realize that we are trying our best.

There you go, less work. (Service is my #2 - so, I like you!)

Gotta say, my husband twisted my arm into going to a movie the Monday before V-day. That was how we celebrated. We've been married for a little over two years, second marriage for both of us. So we're not feeling pressured to do the cards/flowers/candy thing.

However, I do work at a firearms store, and I was working that day, and we had one guy come in with none of the right paperwork to buy a gun for his wife, and he spent over a half hour in our store trying to find the right paperwork to prove his address so he could surprise her.

Better than flowers that die and candy that spikes your blood sugar: freedom seeds!

You're not alone in forgetting these so-called special days. I’ve got more my fair share to remember. Valentine day is way down on the list.

Three anniversaries. First date and two wedding days (unofficial and official). Not forgetting family birthdays and, lastly, Valentine.

Hi, Kevin!

Here down (or up) if we are living in different hemispheres and our point of view is a kind of fanatic about the position of the Earth in the ecliptic, the Valentine Day isn't respected. What we do make a very noisy feast is the Passover Sunday. Then you can get ill for an overdose of chocolate.

The "Last Hour Train" buys are in full blast since Good Friday on same as you on February 14.

I don't think that this "get for later" behaviour qualifies a person as bad, good or average.

We are our own critics and always finish with a "Mea Culpa" if we forget a holiday or another special day.

The year has 365/6 days to cover any forgotten special day. Remember the Egg on the Wall from "Alice through the Looking Glass" : " Today I had a present for my un-birthday".

If anyone forgets to say "Happy birthday" to someone in our circle, say it in any other day of the 364/5 when one do remember (before or after, never mind.)

So quick order delivery from Walmart or Amazon..set up a holiday subscription [every holiday] flowers, chocolates, card..repeat. She will appreciate the effort😂 but really the thought..she know you..she will get it.
